SEO is not dependent only on META Tags
We just can't avoid Google while talking of Internet Marketing. Google is the king, capturing about 65% volume of the Search Engine Market. It now google is no longer considering metas for positioning of a website for a particular search term. Don't worry this does not mean that a page with meta content are thrown out from the list. The weightage of meta contents for site positioning is reduced. The title stills hold a valuable weightage. The crawlers of Search Engines are looking for the page contents. The more relevant page content it will be, the better position you will find.
I have seen that lot of people doing SEO projects by just putting some high traffic keywords in title, description & keyword content. Then after no one know about those websites cant afford to remember the title & description are page identity within a website. so they should be unique.
Also try to load both title & description with the important keywords. Still never forget about the page content. The keywords in page content is like bullet in gun. Empty gun is useless, so fill your gun and aim the traffic. But do not spam. Access of any keyword will bring your site in the category of Spam.
The Robots of Search Engines become more active then ever. Their refining process are becoming stronger & stronger. The page that are not relevant has negligible possibility to come in top list for a search term.....But still they are coming, I guess the internal competition between search companies are responsible for that, to show maximum number of results, they may be adopting some unethical steps. But this is not the area of our concern. All that matters for a SEO professional is to get quality traffic & increase in online customer rate. For this the primary target is to bring the fresh viewers to our site and to direct them straight to the area of his interest. Also the equivalent important is to mark a impression so that visitor satisfies of his search in least efforts. Here comes good navigation & quality content in picture.

Moreover, there can be only 10 website can position in first page for a search result. Other millions are continuously
struggling to get into; so your site has to be updated frequently.
- A "robots.txt" & a "sitemap" file is very necessary in a website for search engines to rank them. These files acts
as tools for the crawlers to index your webpages.
- Search Engine Crawlers will see a webpage as if there is no images & javascript. So avoid images as much as you can. For all the images used in the website use appropriate alt tag, describing image. A alt text that describe the image as well as relate it to the page content will give some extra boost.
One thing is absolutely clear Google engineers are trying to make their algorithms more & more closely to the way a human saw a webpage. So present a website taking this concept very seriously.
